Sarah values the benefits of singing lessons that go far beyond being able to sing a tune, including:

  • Students learn how to look after their voice
  • Age appropriate, vocally safe repertoire is carefully selected for each individual student using lyrics, sheet music, recordings and accompaniment/backing tracks
  • General musicianship skills are improved
  • Score reading skills are encouraged/developed
  • Students experience the positive process of regular practice leading to improved performance
  • Opportunities are made available to perform, enter examinations, compete in festivals & competitions, join school or external singing clubs/choirs and/or sing in city-wide projects
  • Confidence increases and self-esteem levels rise
  • The voice may be used as the main instrument in GCSE or A-Level Music practical components
  • Help is given with audition preparation
  • Lessons can include learning piano accompaniment using chords
